Dr. Kara Fedders believes strongly in giving back to the community and caring for the eyes of all those in need. She enjoys participating in outreach programs and also collects donated eyeglasses & sunglasses and delivers them to those in need. Dr. Fedders is an active member and volunteer in the Colorado Springs Lions Club.
Dr. Fedders participates each year in Optometry Missions though VOSH Colorado. Colorado VOSH is a chapter of VOSH International. The primary mission of VOSH/International is to facilitate the provision and sustainability of vision care worldwide for people who can neither afford nor obtain such care. In Dec 2001 we partnered with the World Health Organization and pledged to eliminate preventable blindness by the year 2020. You can see Dr. Fedders and their excellent work here: VOSH Colorado
In November 2019, Dr. Fedders led a group of 10 Volunteers to Natuvu Creek in Fiji.
In March 2018, Dr. Fedders was part of a group of 27 volunteers from the US & Canada to Zorritos, Tumbes, Peru, providing the only eye care available in this village, and distributing free sunglasses.
In 2017, Dr. Fedders joined a group of 5 volunteers from Colorado on an eye care mission trip to Madagascar
